This bill mandates that sex offenders who fail to register or verify their registration on two or more occasions must wear a location-tracking device while under supervision, such as probation, parole, conditional release, or post-release supervision. The agency supervising the offender will attach and monitor this device. Failure to wear the device will result in a Class D felony, a serious crime, and can also lead to the revocation of their parole or probation, meaning their supervised release could be terminated. This provision is in addition to any other penalties already outlined in the law.
