This bill would require the single written or electronic application for insurance affordability programs, such as Medi-Cal (the state's Medicaid program) and the California Health Benefit Exchange, to include an option for individuals to enroll in the Donate Life California Organ and Tissue Donor Registry. The enrollment option would be voluntary and not a required part of the application. The bill would also require the department to electronically transmit information related to enrollment in the registry on a weekly basis to the Donate Life California nonprofit organization.
