This bill requires the state of Connecticut to adopt Atlantic Standard Time (AST) upon the enactment of legislation in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and New York adopting AST, and upon federal approval of such a change. Currently, Connecticut observes Eastern Standard Time (EST) with a one-hour advance during Daylight Saving Time. If the conditions for adopting AST are met, the state will permanently be on AST, eliminating the biannual time change.
