This bill restricts the distribution of single-use plastic straws in New Hampshire. It defines a "single-use plastic straw" as a disposable tube made predominantly of plastic, and a "food service business" as a business that sells or provides food for consumption on or off the premises. The bill requires food service businesses to provide a single-use plastic straw to a customer only when the customer explicitly requests it. The bill excludes health care facilities required to be licensed under RSA 151:2 from this requirement. The bill will take effect one year after it is passed.
