This bill establishes "Montana daylight time" as the official time zone for the state of Montana, coordinated with universal time offset by 6 hours throughout the year. The bill requires approval by Montana voters in the November 2020 general election and must also be approved by the U.S. Department of Transportation or Congress to transfer Montana from mountain standard time to central standard time. If approved, the new time zone would go into effect on the later of the voter approval or the federal approval.
