This bill establishes the Sexual Assault Survivors Bill of Rights, which provides various rights for survivors of sexual assault. These include the right to a free medical forensic examination, the preservation of sexual assault evidence kits for at least 20 years, and the right to be notified about the results of forensic testing and the planned destruction of evidence. The bill also creates a Sexual Assault Task Force to develop recommendations for improving the care and treatment of sexual assault survivors and the preservation of evidence. The Task Force will include representatives from law enforcement, the medical community, and victim advocacy groups.

Justice
