The model policies must address various issues related to transgender students, such as compliance with nondiscrimination laws, maintaining a safe and supportive learning environment, preventing and responding to bullying and harassment, and addressing student records, identification, privacy, dress codes, and participation in sex-specific school activities and events (excluding athletics).
