This bill enacts the Made for Maine Health Coverage Act to establish the Maine Health Insurance Marketplace, a state-based health insurance exchange, and authorizes the state to enter into state-federal health coverage partnerships to improve the affordability, availability, and quality of health coverage in Maine. The bill also creates a pooled individual and small group health insurance market, requires carriers to offer clear choice health plans, and provides for the continuation of the Maine Guaranteed Access Reinsurance Association to help stabilize the individual health insurance market. The bill also requires coverage of certain preventive and primary health services without cost-sharing.
