This bill amends Section 49-23-9 of the Mississippi Code of 1972 to revise the height requirements for outdoor advertising signs. The key provisions are: 1. The bill maintains the maximum size and configuration requirements for outdoor signs erected after July 1, 2003, but removes the 40-foot height restriction, allowing sign structures erected on or after April 15, 2008 to exceed 40 feet in height, as long as they do not exceed 40 feet above the grade of the site where the sign is placed. 2. The bill prohibits any sign structure over 40 feet in height from being converted to digital, unless the sign structure was lawfully converted to digital prior to April 15, 2008. 3. The bill takes effect on July 1, 2020.
