This bill amends Sections 27-25-519 and 27-25-717 of the Mississippi Code of 1972 to revise the date by which taxpayers must remit oil severance and gas severance taxes. Specifically, it changes the due date for these taxes from the 25th day of the month following the month in which the tax accrued to the 25th day of the second month following the month in which the tax accrued. The bill also updates references to the "tax commission" to the "Department of Revenue" and makes other minor administrative changes.
