This Resolution strongly condemns all forms of racism, ethnic bias, discrimination, incitement to violence, and animosity directed at minority groups in New Jersey that have arisen due to the COVID-19 pandemic, acknowledging that the spread of the virus has unfortunately led to increased prejudice and xenophobia globally, particularly against people of East Asian and Southeast Asian descent. It encourages the Governor and Attorney General to offer state aid to victims of hate crimes, bolster security at targeted institutions, and promote positive social interactions among New Jersey residents during this challenging period, and mandates that copies of this resolution be sent to federal officials, including the President and Vice President, and all members of Congress from New Jersey.
