This bill establishes parameters for K-12 human sexuality education in the state of Montana. It allows parents or guardians to refuse to allow their child to attend or withdraw their child from any course, class, assembly, or instruction related to human sexuality, which would be considered an excused absence. The bill requires schools to notify parents or guardians at least 48 hours in advance before providing any human sexuality instruction, and to annually inform parents or guardians of the content and their right to withdraw their child. Schools are also required to make all curriculum materials related to human sexuality available for public inspection. Additionally, the bill prohibits schools from allowing any abortion services providers to offer materials or instruction on human sexuality.
