AN ACT To amend chapter 160, RSMo, by adding thereto one new section relating to public school curriculum and instruction.

AI Summary

This bill amends Missouri's education laws to prohibit the teaching of "divisive concepts" in public schools, including critical race theory and The 1619 Project. It requires school districts to adopt curriculum focused on teaching the foundational principles of American democracy, such as the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution. The bill also prohibits schools from accepting private funding to teach curriculum similar to critical race theory or The 1619 Project, and gives the state attorney general the authority to investigate and withhold state funding from districts found to be in violation.
