This bill amends the Oklahoma Citizens Participation Act to give courts the discretion to award court costs, reasonable attorney fees, and other expenses to the moving party if the court orders dismissal of a legal action under the Act. The bill also authorizes courts to impose sanctions against the party who brought the legal action to deter similar actions. Additionally, the bill allows courts to award court costs and reasonable attorney fees to the responding party if the court finds that a motion to dismiss under the Act is frivolous or solely intended to delay. The bill takes effect on November 1, 2023.
