This bill makes several changes related to firearms and ammunition. It amends existing law to add a new condition to postrelease community supervision, which is a period of supervision for individuals released from prison, prohibiting them from being in the presence of ammunition or any item that appears to be ammunition. Additionally, the bill creates new reporting requirements for ammunition vendors, mandating that any vendor selling over 1,000 rounds of ammunition to an individual within a five-day period must report this transaction to the local law enforcement agency where the individual resides within 24 hours, with exceptions for certain individuals and transfers. Finally, the bill makes it illegal to manufacture, import, sell, offer for sale, give, or lend any device capable of converting an ammunition feeding device into a large-capacity magazine, defining a large-capacity magazine as one that can hold more than 10 rounds of ammunition.
