This bill requires the State Department of Education to create and manage a database to register all school support employees, which are individuals defined in Section 1-116 of Title 70 of the Oklahoma Statutes, and this database can be integrated with existing systems. For each support employee, the database will store their full legal name, the name of their employing school district and site along with their position, and a unique, permanent identification number issued by the Department that will follow them throughout their employment in the state's public education system for verification and record continuity. School districts must submit this information to the Department annually by October 1st, with corrections and updates allowed until October 15th when the data will be certified by the school district superintendent, and districts must also update information within thirty days of hiring or terminating a support employee. This act will become effective on November 1, 2026.
