This bill amends Section 365.012(i) of the Health and Safety Code to require that upon conviction for any misdemeanor offense under that section, the court must inform the defendant in writing that a future conviction for an offense under this section could lead to the forfeiture of the vehicle used in the commission of the offense, as outlined in Chapter 59 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, which governs property forfeiture. The changes made by this bill apply only to offenses committed on or after its effective date of September 1, 2015.
