This bill expands Medicaid coverage by adding a new category of eligible individuals: those under 65, not pregnant, whose household income does not exceed 133 percent of the federal poverty line (a measure of poverty set by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services), and who are eligible under a specific federal provision (42 U.S.C. 1396a(a)(10)(A)(i)(VIII)) provided the federal government pays at least 90 percent of the medical assistance costs to the state.
