This bill amends the Texas Health and Safety Code to require health care facilities to dispose of embryonic and fetal tissue remains through interment, cremation/incineration, or steam disinfection followed by interment. It also creates a registry of funeral homes, cemeteries, and nonprofit organizations that can assist with the disposition of remains, and imposes civil penalties on facilities that violate the new disposition requirements. The bill aims to express the state's "profound respect for the life of the unborn" through dignified final disposition of these remains.
