This bill requires that when individuals apply for a driver's license, license renewal, or personal identification document from the Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV), they shall simultaneously be provided the opportunity to register to vote or update their voter registration information. The DMV is required to transmit the voter registration applications to the central voter registration system within the next business day. The bill also allows other state government agencies that collect documents proving eligibility (such as age, citizenship, and residence address) to follow the automatic voter registration procedures outlined for the DMV.
