This Resolution recognizes and supports the goals and ideals of National Sexual Assault Awareness Month, an annual observance dedicated to educating the public about sexual violence, preventing sexual assault, and improving the treatment and prosecution of perpetrators. It calls for acknowledging and commending survivors of sexual assault, as well as the volunteers and professionals who assist them in their healing process. The Resolution also applauds national and community organizations, private sector supporters, public safety officials, law enforcement, and health professionals for their efforts in raising awareness, providing support and treatment to survivors, and ensuring perpetrators are held accountable.
