Bill Summary
Combating Human Trafficking in Commercial Vehicles Act
AI Summary
This bill aims to combat human trafficking in commercial vehicles. It does this by requiring the Secretary of Transportation to designate an official to coordinate human trafficking prevention efforts across different transportation modes and agencies. The bill also expands the scope of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration's outreach and education program to include human trafficking prevention activities, and allows the Commercial Driver's License Financial Assistance Program to support the recognition, prevention, and reporting of human trafficking. Additionally, the bill establishes a Department of Transportation Advisory Committee on Human Trafficking to make recommendations on actions the Department can take to combat human trafficking and develop best practices for states and local stakeholders to follow.
