This bill creates the Criminal Justice Reclassification Coordination Council, a 22-member body that will review and recommend changes to the classification of felonies, appropriate sentence lengths, and other criminal justice reforms in Oklahoma to reduce or hold neutral the prison population. The Council will include representatives from various state and local agencies, including the Attorney General, district attorneys, law enforcement, the Department of Corrections, public defenders, and other stakeholders. The Council will submit annual reports of its findings and recommendations to the state's legislative and executive leadership.
