This bill transfers certain powers and duties of the Budget and Policy Section and the Cost Recovery and Billing Section within the Agency for State Technology to the Department of Management Services, requires the Department of Management Services to provide the Agency for State Technology with financial management oversight, and requires the Department of Environmental Protection to act as the lead agency for certain geospatial data responsibilities. The bill also revises the powers, duties, and functions of the Agency for State Technology, requires the agency to develop an enterprise data inventory, and revises provisions relating to the state data center. Additionally, the bill requires the state data center and state agencies to show preference for cloud computing solutions and assist customer entities in transitioning to cloud computing services.
