This bill removes the prohibition on the possession and use of firearm silencers in New York. It amends the Environmental Conservation Law and the Penal Law to allow individuals in lawful possession of a device that silences, suppresses, or muffles the sound of a firearm to use such a device while hunting game for which the individual is licensed, provided the host firearm is otherwise allowed. The bill also removes language that previously prohibited the possession of firearm silencers.
