This bill prohibits mental health practitioners and professionals from engaging in conversion therapy, which is defined as any practice that seeks to change an individual's sexual orientation or gender identity, with clients under 18 years of age or with vulnerable adults. The bill also excludes conversion therapy from being covered under Minnesota's Medical Assistance program and prohibits any misrepresentation or deceptive practices in the advertisement or offering of conversion therapy services that could be interpreted as representing homosexuality as a mental illness or guaranteeing to change an individual's sexual orientation or gender identity.
