This bill creates the Court Clerk's Records Management and Preservation Fund in each county to be used for preserving, maintaining, archiving, and protecting recorded instruments within the office of the clerk of the district court. The bill adds a $10 fee to be assessed on certain civil case filings and credited to this new fund until November 1, 2023. The court clerks are required to compile monthly reports on the funds collected and expended for this purpose, which will be reviewed by the Administrative Director of the Courts.
