This bill authorizes the certification of certain batterers intervention and treatment pilot programs by district attorneys or district judges. The certified programs must have no more than 250 active participants enrolled at any given time and are required to submit quarterly reports to the district attorney, district judge, and Attorney General, as well as an annual report to the legislature. The reports must include data required by the Attorney General and information on completion rates. The bill also stipulates that the Attorney General can make inspection visits to the pilot programs, and that the programs must comply with the collection and confidentiality standards outlined in existing law. The bill is effective as of November 1, 2019.
