This bill amends Minnesota Statutes to prohibit health plans from imposing any cost-sharing requirements (such as deductibles, coinsurance, or co-payments) for the first four outpatient mental health service visits within a contract year. However, this does not apply to premiums, balance billing for out-of-network providers, or the cost of non-covered services. The bill also maintains existing provisions that require health plans to have parity between coverage for mental health/substance use disorder services and medical/surgical services, in terms of cost-sharing and benefit limitations.
