This bill: 1. Requires school districts to automatically enroll students who meet or exceed state standards on statewide assessments in the next most rigorous level of advanced courses or programs that align with the student's high school and beyond plan goals. Districts must notify students and parents about the academic acceleration policy and provide an opt-out option. 2. Requires school districts to enroll any student who wants to enroll in a dual credit course or program, and the state must provide funding for exam fees for students eligible for free or reduced-price meals. 3. Allows districts to use a portion of their learning assistance program funds for interventions for students identified as at risk of not graduating using a dropout early warning and intervention data system. 4. Requires districts to use a dropout early warning and intervention data system and implement a K-12 dropout prevention, intervention, and reengagement system, starting with 5th grade or earlier and the first year of middle and high school. 5. Updates requirements for high school and beyond plans, including using the dropout prevention system to inform plan updates for 9th grade students.
