This bill creates the Educators' Professional Liability Insurance Program, which provides liability coverage of up to $2 million per occurrence for all employees, including full-time and part-time personnel, of public schools and charter schools in Oklahoma. The program is administered by the Office of Management and Enterprise Services (OMES), which can contract with licensed insurers, create a self-insured risk pool, or use a combination of both. The Legislature will provide annual appropriations to cover the costs and premiums for the program, and school districts and the State Department of Education must notify eligible employees about the coverage provided.
