This bill amends existing Virginia law to expand the prohibition against the unlawful dissemination or sale of certain images of another person. The key provisions are: (1) the definition of "another person" is broadened to include a person whose image was used in creating, adapting, or modifying a video or still image with the intent to depict an actual person who is recognizable; (2) internet service providers are not held responsible for content provided by another person; and (3) the venue for prosecution can be where the unlawful act occurs or where the image is produced, reproduced, found, stored, received, or possessed. This bill is identical to a previous House bill.
