This bill requires the administration and instruction in preparation of the Test Assessing Secondary Completion (TASC) examination in the Chinese and Korean languages for students who are proficient in these languages and have limited English proficiency. The bill directs the Commissioner of Education to ensure that each school district makes the TASC examination and related instructional materials available in Chinese and Korean, and requires school districts to maintain records of students taking the TASC examination in these languages and report this information to the Department of Education annually. The bill also authorizes the Commissioner to promulgate rules and regulations, including entering into a contract with the American Council on Education to develop the necessary testing materials.
