This bill prohibits discrimination by a seller or landlord on the basis of sexual orientation, gender identity, or citizenship status in any real estate transaction or lease. It amends existing Nebraska statutes to include these additional protected characteristics in the state's Fair Housing Act, which previously prohibited discrimination based on race, creed, religion, color, national origin, sex, handicap, and familial status. The bill also makes it unlawful to deny access or membership in real estate organizations or services based on these protected characteristics.
