This bill amends Section 40-56-10 of the South Carolina Code of Laws to increase the membership of the State Board of Pyrotechnic Safety from seven to nine seats. The additional seats must be held by pyrotechnics retailers. The bill also specifies that one appointee must be employed by a local fire authority, three must be pyrotechnics retailers, one must be a pyrotechnics wholesaler, one must be a law enforcement representative, and three must be members of the public with no pecuniary interest in the pyrotechnics industry. The bill further states that any vacant seat on the board must be filled through an appointment by the Chairmen of the House and Senate Labor, Commerce and Industry Committees.
