This bill amends the Insurance Code of 1956 to require health insurance policies in Michigan that provide coverage for both orally administered and intravenously/injected anticancer medications to ensure that the cost-sharing requirements (such as deductibles, copays, and coinsurance) and treatment limitations (such as frequency or duration of treatment) are no more restrictive for the orally administered medications than for the intravenously/injected medications. The bill also prohibits insurers from increasing cost-sharing or imposing more restrictive treatment limits on these medications in order to comply with the law. The provisions apply to health insurance policies delivered, issued, or renewed in Michigan on or after the effective date of the bill.
