This bill provides a tax credit of up to $1,100 to certain volunteer firefighters, volunteer ambulance workers, and volunteer emergency medical personnel in New York for their qualifying service. To qualify, the volunteer must be a member in good standing for at least one year, have completed all required training, and have attended at least 40% of their volunteer department's activities. The credit amount increases incrementally based on the number of consecutive years of qualifying service, starting at $200 for one year and reaching $1,100 for 10 or more years.
