This bill expands the definition of "eligible senior citizen" and "eligible disabled person" to include any member of the tenant's household who is 62 years of age or older, or has a permanent physical or psychological impairment that substantially limits major life activities, provided they have lived in the housing accommodation for at least one year. This provides protection to disabled and senior citizen non-purchasing residents of buildings that undergo cooperative or condominium conversions under an eviction plan, even if they are not the tenants of record.
