This bill expands eligibility for Medicaid in Texas under the federal Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA). The bill also requires the Commission to adopt rules for implementing this expanded eligibility and to annually report on the effects, including the impact on the number of uninsured individuals, healthcare costs, and charity/uncompensated care. The bill would take effect on January 1, 2020, but only if a related state constitutional amendment is approved by voters.
