This bill amends the Education Law to require all school districts in New York to provide instruction in financial management, including topics like budgeting, credit, debt, and investment, for students in grades four through eight. The Commissioner of Education is tasked with establishing and defining the financial management program, as well as providing technical assistance to develop age-appropriate curricula for these courses. The bill also authorizes the necessary rules and regulations to be made and completed by the effective date of July 1st.
