This bill designates specified segments of the Nashua, Squannacook, and Nissitissit rivers in Massachusetts and New Hampshire as components of the Wild and Scenic Rivers System. The bill excludes certain areas with respect to the Ice House and Pepperell hydroelectric projects and the Hollingsworth and Vose dam from such designation. The bill requires the management of the designated river segments in accordance with the Nashua, Squannacook, and Nissitissit Rivers Stewardship Plan, and allows the Secretary of the Interior to enter into cooperative agreements with state and local governments and organizations to support the long-term protection and enhancement of the designated segments. The bill also places limitations on the Secretary's authority to acquire land and prohibits the use of condemnation, and clarifies that the designated river segments shall not be administered as units of the National Park System.
