This bill amends existing law to authorize a peace officer to arrest a person without a warrant in certain instances. The key provisions include allowing peace officers to make arrests without a warrant for public offenses committed or attempted in their presence, when a person has committed a felony, when a felony has been committed and the officer has reasonable cause to believe the person committed it, on a reasonable cause of the commission of a felony, at night when there is reasonable cause to believe a felony was committed, and when there is probable cause to believe the person has committed certain violent crimes or violations of protection or no-contact orders.
