This bill amends existing law to revise certain fee provisions regarding ownership and transportation certificates for horses, mules, and asses. It increases the maximum fee for issuance of ownership and transportation certificates from $30 to $75. Additionally, the bill revises brand inspection fees for horses, mules, and asses, increasing the maximum fee from $1.50 to $10 per head. The bill also introduces an "equine farm service fee" of up to $55 for cases where a brand inspector must travel from their assigned duty post to complete a brand inspection certificate for horses, mules, or asses. This fee is in addition to any other brand inspection or permit fees. The bill provides exceptions to the equine farm service fee for livestock auctions and feedlots approved by the Idaho Department of Agriculture.
