This bill makes several amendments to Kentucky's fish and wildlife laws: It defines "light geese" and "light geese conservation order" and allows for exceptions to shotgun shell limitations during light geese conservation order periods. The bill also permits committee meetings of the Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources Commission to be held at locations throughout the Commonwealth, rather than just in Frankfort. Additionally, the bill requires people who kill or attempt to kill an animal in self-defense or for humane purposes to report the incident to a conservation officer before midnight of the same day. It increases the daily bag limit for waterfowl and requires hunters to have a current migratory bird/waterfowl permit, rather than a Kentucky migratory bird permit. The bill also adds vehicles operated by Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife enforcement officers to the list of emergency vehicles and makes some minor conforming amendments to other related statutes.
