This bill amends existing law to provide for the posting of notice for solicitations of information technology by political subdivisions (such as local governments) when procuring services or personal property valued in excess of $100,000. The bill allows such notices to be posted electronically on the political subdivision's website instead of being published in the newspaper. It also requires the original notice and any amendments to be maintained by the political subdivision for six months after the bid opening. The bill maintains the existing open competitive sealed bid process for such procurements, but provides additional requirements and procedures related to the posting of notice, handling of bid security, and review of the award decision.
