This bill adds a new chapter to the Idaho Code to establish the Quality Educator Loan Assistance Program. The program will provide direct repayment of educational loans for eligible "quality educators," which are defined as full-time, standard certificated instructional or pupil service employees in Idaho school districts or public charter schools. The State Board of Education will identify specific schools facing critical quality educator shortages, and quality educators employed at those schools will be eligible for loan repayment assistance of up to $1,500 to $4,500 per year for up to four years, as long as they remain employed at the same school or district. The Board will promulgate rules to implement the program and determine the number of awards based on available appropriations.
