This bill amends and adds to existing law to provide that advanced opportunities funds, which are funds available to students in grades 7-12 to use towards overload courses, dual credits, and certain exams, may also be used by students who have graduated from high school in Idaho and were eligible for the funds prior to graduation but did not use them. These funds can now be used by eligible graduates within three years of their high school graduation to attend state-designated trade schools, which are defined as institutions offering postsecondary education or training for a career or occupation requiring a license or certification, but not an associate's, bachelor's, master's, or doctoral degree. The state board of education is tasked with designating which trade schools within Idaho, whether public or private, are eligible for these advanced opportunities funds.
