This bill amends Chapter 51, Section 26 of the General Laws to change the timeframe for voter registration sessions. The existing law allowed voter registration sessions to be held between 8 pm on the 20th day and 8 pm on the 10th day before an election or town meeting. The bill replaces this with a new timeframe of the close of business on the 20th day or the close of business of the local election officials' office on the business day prior to the 20th day, and no later than the close of business on the 10th day or the close of business of the local election officials' office on the business day prior to the 10th day before an election or town meeting.
