This bill establishes a data advisory committee to promote the improved use of school-level data to inform effective resource allocation decisions at the local level. The committee will include representatives from various education organizations and will assist the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education in streamlining financial reporting, strengthening the department's capacity to analyze and report staffing and financial data, strengthening district capacity to use data for strategic resource allocation, and establishing a data collection and reporting system to track funding for English language learners and low-income students, as well as provide access to school-level expenditures across all districts. The committee will report its progress and make recommendations to the board, the joint committee on education, and the committees on ways and means.
