This bill allows municipalities and regional governments to authorize their plumbing and gas fitting inspectors to provide emergency aid and conduct inspections in other cities, towns, or federal jurisdictions within Massachusetts or in neighboring states. During such aid, the inspectors have the same immunities and privileges as if working within their own jurisdictions. The municipality providing aid is responsible for any equipment damage, personal injuries, and workers' compensation payments incurred by its inspectors during the aid, unless there is a written agreement stating otherwise.
